From Combat to Community
Youth Development:
We are currently applying for funding to build our core programme From Combat to Community engaging 11–18-year-olds with free Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training and creative digital workshops, from podcasting to video storytelling.
Kelvin’s military background brings a unique blend of credibility, discipline, and empathy—helping engage hard-to-reach youth and build trust where it matters most.
Why It Matters
Our work is rooted in the challenges faced by many young people today: lack of role models, exposure to crime, and limited access to spaces that support physical and mental wellbeing. Reel Grappling offers an alternative path—one built on structure, support, and self-belief.
Key Areas of Impact:
Youth Empowerment: Through beginner-level BJJ young people aged 11–18 will develop discipline, resilience, and self-expression.
Mental Wellbeing: Physical activity, mentorship, improve confidence, belonging, and reduced isolation.
Community Engagement: Local families will be invited to events, contribute to media outputs, and take part in volunteering—promoting pride and shared ownership.
Veteran-led Innovation: Bringing Military values to civilian challenges, demonstrating how lived experience can lead community transformation.
